Hobbies Group

About

We meet most Tuesdays in the village hall committee room 2-4. There are about 8 to 10 of us usually. At the start of January we pay a subscription of £5 then £1.50 per session.

Some of the crafts that have been covered over the years are: cloth sculpture, encostic art, cardboard money wallets, tissue box covers and etuei boxes as well as knitting and crochet.

The group has also done the church windows for special occasions a few times. Knitted teddies for children’s hospitals, bonnets for babies in the RUH, outfits for babies in Africa and dressed dolls for people in care homes who suffer with dementia.

The group have also dabbled in painting ceramics and from time to time they do have speakers and demonstrations on various subjects. Mostly though it is a social gathering of like minded people and we take whatever craft we are working on, on that day and we are happy to share our crafts and ideas and to give advice.
